Easels for Sale and on Rent

Easels
A room used by photographers to process mainly black and white film without the worry that light will destroy it, is known as darkroom. These darkrooms are closed from every inch of light and can be of any size according to the need of the photographer and his equipments. Any light from outside can spoil the negatives and the image that is why the rooms remain closed while the photographers are busy in film processing. Every dark room needs to include easels, work tables, film processing tanks, safelights, and sinks whether fixed or portable, for both processing and clean up.

Easel is one of the most important equipments of a darkroom. An easel is an upright support, which is used for displaying or holding something. Print easels come with arms that keep the unexposed paper flat while in use. There are generally two designs of easel easily available in the market at present time one being tripod design and the other is H-frame design.

Tripod design easels are based on three legs and the crossbars to make them are more stable and an independent mechanism for the adjustment of the working plane without losing the stability of the three legs of the easel. H-frame design easels are based on right angles. All the posts are parallel to each other with the base of the easel being rectangular. The main portion consists of two vertical posts with a horizontal crossbar support, giving the easel the shape of H.

Darkroom easels are available in the market in many different forms and photo sizes to accommodate any type of photographic development solution. Darkroom easels may be simple in design or very complex including multiple masts, casters and winches. Easel plays important part when developing photographs onto the photo paper. Camera and equipment manufacturers sell easels of different sizes and these easels come in fixed photography sizes, like 8” by 10” and 5” by 7”. The most recent innovation is multi sized easel that includes adjustable bars for up to four different photo sizes. Photographers may select between simple or complex easel setups based on the photo processing desire and their budget. They may choose to have cheap easels like the 5inches by 7inches. Easels are available with the prices less than $ 45 to $ 700 or more. A 4-in-1 printing easel helps speed up the printing process when more than one size is required for an image. It is available with four different panels wallet sized 3 ½" by 5", 5" by 7", and 8" by 10".

Easels are always changing due to latest technology so the best way to keep in touch is the internet or the local camera store. Both are excellent sources of information for the easels. Some online shopping websites offer darkroom easels rentals online. Search online and you can find easels of more expensive brands through retailers, online auction sites and photography stores. At the time of buying an easel you should know your requirements and so you should also keep in mind the comparison of a variety of easels. Search from amongst the available brands and bring home the one that you like the most.
